First Clip, Release Details: Intimate Festival Hit, “HONEYMOON”

Touted as the Midnighter to watch at this past March’s SXSW, HONEYMOON, the feature debut from director Leigh Janiak, is now on its way to release. The intimate, marriage-based horror story is largely a two-person show tapping into the all-too-easy spread of mistrust and self-doubt, and its unsettling atmosphere is rooted in just how quickly that can set in. Take for instance the span of the film—which takes place over just a few sunny days at a rural cabin—and know the below clip is really just night three, or so.

HONEYMOON stars our favorite Wildling, Rose Leslie and PENNY DREADFUL’s Harry Treadaway as newlyweds Paul and Bea, who “want to spend their honeymoon at a cabin in the woods. But the lovely romantic moments quickly disappear when strange events, such as the appearance of a mysterious light, the unexpected disappearance of Bea and her strange return, completely hurt and acting differently, are destined to tear them apart.”

Magnolia Pictures and Magnet Releasing have announced a September 12th, 2014 release for HONEYMOON both in theaters and On Demand. For more on the film, see our review out of SXSW right here.
