Release news: It’s gonna get “COLD IN JULY” in May

A film by the STAKE LAND/WE ARE WHAT WE ARE team of Jim Mickle and Nick Damici, based on a Joe R. Lansdale novel, is the definition of a must-see, and we’ve just learned when you’ll be able to see it.

Fango got the word that COLD IN JULY will open theatrically and on VOD May 23 from IFC Films. Directed by Mickle from a script by him and Damici, the latter of whom also co-stars, the movie stars DEXTER’s Michael C. Hall as a man who shoots an intruder in his home and is hailed as a hero by the locals, but then has to deal with the vengeance of the burglar’s ex-con father (Sam Shepard). Don Johnson, Wyatt Russell and Vinessa Shaw also star. See our review of COLD IN JULY here.
