Scream Factory Acquires Slamdance Fave “BLOODSUCKING BASTARDS”

In our most recent Dreadful Ten article, FANGORIA speculated on Scream Factory’s acquisition of otherwise undistributed films, whether they be festival titles or foreign favorites. And sure enough, Scream Factory has answered our question in full measure as The Wrap reported yesterday that the specialty distributor will be heading up the multi-platform release of the Slamdance vampire comedy BLOODSUCKING BASTARDS!

The film, directed by Brian James O’Connell and written by comedy troupe Dr. God and co-writer Ryan Mitts, follows an anxious office worker who learns his new boss (and longtime rival) is a vampire, who is feasting upon and turning many of his co-workers into the bloodthirsty undead. BLOODSUCKING BASTARDS also sports one hell of a cast, including Fran Kranz (CABIN IN THE WOODS), Emma Fitzpatrick (THE COLLECTION), Pedro Pascal (GAME OF THRONES), Joey Kern (CABIN FEVER), Yvette Yates (SORORITY PARTY MASSACRE) and Joel Murray (GOD BLESS AMERICA).

One of the most buzzed about titles after its Slamdance opening night premiere, reports indicate that Scream Factory will not just give the film their standard Blu-ray release, but will also be releasing the film in theaters and on VOD, and have also optioned the broadcast and digital distribution rights for the flick as well. However, just after seeing the trailer, this writer feels confident that BLOODSUCKING BASTARDS will jump towards many horror fan’s most anticipated list, including his own. You can check out the trailer and poster below, and expect to see BLOODSUCKING BASTARDS hit theaters, VOD, Blu-ray and more later this year…
