Scream Factory to unveil “THE SENTINEL” on Blu-ray this summer!

A grisly cult favorite from the ’70s is making its long-awaited hi-def disc debut later this year, thanks to the indefatigable folks at Scream Factory!

SENTINELSCREAMFACTORYNEWSShout! Factory’s genre-centric label just announced via its Facebook page that Michael Winner’s THE SENTINEL will be coming in a special-edition Blu-ray planned for release in August. Based on the best-selling novel by Jeffrey Konvitz, THE SENTINEL stars Cristina Raines as a model who moves into a New York city brownstone that turns out to have some hellish secrets. Full of bizarre sights thanks to the notorious Winner, and controversial at the time of its 1977 release for utilizing actual deformed persons as its onscreen “freaks,” the movie has since become a cult classic and been cited as an influence on Lucio Fulci films such as THE BEYOND. The amazing cast also includes Chris Sarandon, Martin Balsam, John Carradine, Jose Ferrer, Ava Gardner, Arthur Kennedy, Burgess Meredith, Sylvia Miles, Deborah Raffin, Eli Wallach, Christopher Walken, Jeff Goldblum, Jerry Orbach, Beverly D’Angelo, Tom Berenger and William Hickey.

Bonus features and other details have yet to be announced, but the Scream team promise “a special one already banked that will be a real treat for die-hard fans.” Stay tuned for updates!
