Shots of Jaeger: Meet the latest “PACIFIC RIM” mechs

In gearing up for a July release and this weekend’s WonderCon in Anaheim, Guillermo del Toro’s latest has a very active social media campaign. This week, the official Facebook has been introducing would-be fans and those who’re very much anticipating the monsters vs. mechs opus to Earth’s last saviors, the Jaegers. Up for a good look is America’s Gipsy Danger (who we’ve only seen in blueprint form), Australia’s Striker Eureka, China’s Crimson Typhoon and Russia’s Cherno Alpha, who looks crushing.

From writer Travis Beacham and the no-intro-necessary del Toro, PACIFIC RIM is the story of kaiju risen from the sea and the team of tough ass jaegers man has assembled to take them down. The movie is out July 12th in 2D, 3D and IMAX 3D, all of which I plan to attend at some point.
