“SPRING” into theaters: Horrific romance gets a date


Fans of Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead’s striking debut feature RESOLUTION can now mark their calendars for the release of the duo’s follow-up movie.

Drafthouse Films has announced that Benson and Moorhead’s SPRING will arrive in theaters March 20 following an acclaimed festival tour, with day-and-date VOD release via FilmBuff. The movie stars Lou Taylor Pucci from the EVIL DEAD remake and German actress Nadia Hilker in her English-language debut, with makeup FX by AMERICAN MARY’s Todd Masters. The synopsis: “Evan [Pucci] is a young American fleeing to Europe to escape his past. While backpacking along the Italian coast, everything changes during a stop at an idyllic Italian village, where he meets and instantly connects with the enchanting and mysterious Louise [Hilker]. A flirtatious romance begins to bloom between the two—however, Evan soon realizes that Louise has been harboring a monstrous, primordial secret that puts both their relationship and their lives in jeopardy.”
