Release Date, Trailer: The Unreal “STRANGE COLOR OF YOUR BODY’S TEARS”

Have you seen AMER? THE STRANGE COLOR OF YOUR BODY’S TEARS goes even harder.

The second feature from directing team Hélène Cattet & Bruno Forzani, THE STRANGE COLOR OF YOUR BODY’S TEARS is unreal. Thankfully Strand Releasing has finally set a U.S. date for it to explode unto audiences’ eyes. In the film, “Dan returns home to find his wife is missing. With no signs of struggle or break-in and with no help from the police, Dan’s search for answers leads him down a psychosexual rabbit hole.”

Ostensibly, THE STRANGE COLOR OF YOUR BODY’S TEARS has a more linear plot than their experimental anthology AMER. But the surreal, fetishistic gialli stylings of the filmmakers are pushed even further into a stunning piece of work that’s relentless in its pursuit of a kaleidoscopic altered state. This is not for the unadventurous, or those who don’t fancy themselves a fan of what Cattete & Forzani are up to. You’ll likely feel weird supreme upon STRANGE COLOR’s end, and that’s one of the many reasons it’s already one of my favorite films of the year.

Strand Releasing unleashes THE STRANGE COLOR OF YOUR BODY’S TEARS this August 29. Hopefully, you can catch it on an overwhelming screen. For more, see our review of the film here.  [iTunes]
