The Legend of Richard Matheson: FANGORIA #301’s Cover Story, in Full

As we mourn the influential master of fantastic fiction, Richard Matheson, FANGORIA presents its full cover story and last interview with the esteemed author and screenwriter, whose talents were simply a gift.

“The Legend of Richard Matheson” appeared in, and graced the cover of, the March 2011 issue of FANGORIA. It was issue #301, early on into current Editor-in-Chief Chris Alexander’s run and one that very much began making clear his vision. It serves as both a personal highlight for our editor, as you can read in his tribute to Matheson, and a wonderful overview of the author’s career. The legend discusses his then-most recent novel OTHER KINGDOMS, as well as everything from his towering I AM LEGEND, to his time in television with Rod Serling and THE TWILIGHT ZONE and Dan Curtis, to his relationship with author Charles Beaumont, to the Edgar Allan Poe adaptations he penned for Roger Corman.

It is a lovely read. Please enjoy, and share your own appreciation and memories of Matheson’s work below.
