There Will Now Be Two “TEXAS CHAINSAW” Films Called “LEATHERFACE”

Man, I guess we have BOYHOOD to thank for this!

The Wrap is reporting Millennium Films along with producers Carl Mazzocone, Christa Campbell and Lati Grobman, who ushered ‘do your thing, cuz’ into the cultural lexicon last year with TEXAS CHAINSAW 3D have hired Seth M. Sherwood to script LEATHERFACE, the latest addition to the TCM series.

Like TEXAS CHAINSAW 3D, LEATHERFACE will aim to be canonical and tied to the 1974 classic, serving as a prequel in which Leatherface’s early years/adolescence/first car, kiss and skin mask are chronicled. The site is also reporting production may begin on the film as soon as this winter, with “a director expected to sign on in the coming weeks.”
