Toronto: HORROR-RAMA Welcomes GOBLIN Keyboardist Maurizio GuariniBooks/Art/Culture,News Fangoria Staff
HORROR-RAMA, the fun-filled two-day fan event that celebrated its inaugural year last October in Toronto to great acclaim, returns again… bigger, bloodier and weirder than ever! The show, the brainchild of SUSPECT Video owner Luis Ceriz and FANGORIA/GOREZONE editor Chris Alexander, will run for two days– October 17th and 18th– in Toronto at the elegant Hyatt Regency hotel, located right in the heart of downtown Toronto beside film culture hub TIFF Bell Lightbox. More vendors. More space. More guests. More fun…
Guests so far include exploitation film goddess Sybil Danning, horror movie producer/writer/director Mick Garris, actress/director Debbie Rochon, rock legend and actress Cherie Currie, Italian horror film star Ian McCulloch, comic book king Steve Niles, LAND OF THE DEAD star Eugene Clark and Burlesque legend and AMERICAN MARY star, Tristan Risk and the immortal Linnea Quigley. Now, HORROR-RAMA adds another powerhouse musical guest to our roster.
Please join us in welcoming keyboardist and composer Maurizio Guarini from the legendary Italian progressive rock/soundtrack band GOBLIN! And, in what is a kind of mini-Italian horror classic reunion, Maurizio will get to hang out for the first time with Ian McCulloch, who was the star of Luigi Cozzi’s CONTAMINATION, a film scored by GOBLIN and featuring Guarini’s strong keyboard work. In fact, outside of Goblin, Guarini also played keys for many Fabio Frizzi soundtracks for Lucio Fulci’s signature works, including 1979’s ZOMBIE… which, of course, also stars McCulloch! Italian horror history is alive and well at HORROR-RAMA!
