Toys of Terror #11

Welcome to TOYS OF TERROR, Fango’s weekly feature exhibiting the coolest horror accessories across the web. Whether you’re a collector, connoisseur or simply making your love of horror a family affair, these petrifying playthings are likely to impress even the most heartless horror fan. So if you’re searching for a ghoulish gift, look no further…

This week, our first Toy of Terror is both a long anticipated collectible from a bonafide horror classic and a perfect Father’s Day present: the Jack Torrance action figure! Replicated at a 1/6 scale and hand-made by Brother Production, this figure from THE SHINING comes with two different head sculpts, 35 points of articulation and a slew of impressively recreated accessories, include a full warddrobe, an axe, typewriter, his manuscript, cigarettes and the Overlook Hotel’s signature bottle of wine. As this figure is extremely limited in quantity and custom built, the Jack Torrance figure comes in at a steep $299.99 here, but justifiably so as it’s the holy grail for fans of Kubrick’s terrifying masterpiece.

Next up is a replica of one of the few beloved horror icons from the ’90s, as McFarlane Toys has built a WISHMASTER action figure as a part of their fifth “Movie Maniacs” series. Taking the image of Robert Kurtzman’s titular demon, as brought to life by Andrew Divoff, this 6 and 3/4 inch action figure features 12 points of articulation, a multi-part cape, a gemstone and a custom poster stand. Fans of the most recognizable cinematic Djinn can have one while supplies last for $44.99 here.

The third Toy of Terror finally adds something for the criminally underappreciated fans of THE MUNSTERS, offering Diamond Select’s action figure of Grandpa Munster. Sculpted by Jean St. Jean, this exquisitely detailed 7-inch rubber figure comes with a deluxe diorama display complete with experiments and potions. For MUNSTERS fans old and young, this Grandpa Munster figure can be yours for the low price of $20.99 here!

And to wrap up this week’s Toys of Terror, we have a double dose of groovy goodness in two replicas of Bruce Campbell’s other roles. Your first Bruce Campbell figure comes in NECA’s reproduction of Sebastian “The King” Haff, the badass geriatric protagonists of Don Coscarelli’s BUBBA HO-TEP. Developed by NECA as a part of their Cult Classic series, this 7-inch beautifully assembled action figure comes with a walker, medicine bag and a base that can connect to NECA’s other BUBBA HO-TEP collectibles. You can add Sebastian Haff to your creepy collection of horror heroes for $49.99 here.

Not to be outshined by his multiple beloved on-screen counterparts, our second Bruce Campbell figure depicts everyone’s favorite Campbell character… himself! Sculpted from his meta-role in MY NAME IS BRUCE, this 12-inch fully articulated figure was created from a 3-D scan of Campbell himself and comes with a custom cloth dressing taken from his actual shirt as well as two miniature figures of Campbell as the “angel” and “devil” on his shoulders. Also coming with several accessories from MY NAME IS BRUCE, including a small version of his book and even a miniature Campbell action figure of his own, you can have your own Bruce Campbell for $59.99 here.
