Toys of Terror #28

,,,,

Welcome to TOYS OF TERROR, Fango’s weekly feature exhibiting the coolest horror accessories across the web. Whether you’re a collector, connoisseur or simply making your love of horror a family affair, these petrifying playthings are likely to impress even the most heartless horror fan. So if you’re searching for a ghoulish gift, look no further…

Our first Toy of Terror this week is one for the real old school collectors; the ones who remember the early age of video games and the most infamous offender in horror gaming history: Jason Voorhees! Coming from NECA,  we have the 8-bit Jason Mask, complete with elastic strap (of course), game-accurate design and, like the game, it glows in the dark! Also coming with packaging inspired by the original FRIDAY THE 13TH game, this mask is available for $39.99 here.

Coming in at #2 this week is something special for the Full Moon crowd, as it features one of its most memorable (and miniature) cinematic killers: THE GINGERDEAD MAN! This replica is a 1:1 replica of the original puppet used in the films, featuring a handsome display base and a certificate of authenticity. With only 250 of these bad boys ever made, you can get your hand-signed and numbered Gingerdead Man replica for $104.99 here.

Next up is an iconic killer from the mind of FANGORIA’s next cover-boy, Wes Craven, but through a slightly cuter lens: it’s Funko POP!’s take on SCREAM’s Ghostface! As per usual with the POP! figures, this collectible stands at 3-and-3/4-inches tall and is made of vinyl, with a screen-accurate sculpt featuring the character’s infamous knife. And once again, the POP! figure is the cheapest of the bunch, coming in at $9.99 here.

Our fourth Toy of Terror even excites me this week, as it’s of a movie monster that doesn’t get nearly enough love and truly gets the star treatment from Pegasus Hobbies: The Kothoga Creature from THE RELIC! Measured at 12-inches long, this 1:12 scale creature comes with a museum-style display base and detailed tribal idol statue. And although this is only a completed model (no articulation, folks), this replica of the Stan Winston-designed beast can be yours for $49.99 here.

The last Toy of Terror this week is another treat for fans of THE WALKING DEAD, featuring a prop from Daryl Dixon’s darker days during the zombie apocalypse: The Daryl Dixon Zombie Ear Necklace! Sculpted digitally from the actual prop necklace and hand crafted by Gentle Giant Ltd, this morbid accessory comes in a beautiful shadowbox with an authentic recreation of actor Norman Reedus’ signature. WALKING DEAD die-hard’s and completists be warned, this replica comes with a pricetag of $98.99, but if you gotta have it, you can pre-order this necklace here.
