Toys of Terror #29

Welcome to TOYS OF TERROR, Fango’s weekly feature exhibiting the coolest horror accessories across the web. Whether you’re a collector, connoisseur or simply making your love of horror a family affair, these petrifying playthings are likely to impress even the most heartless horror fan. So if you’re searching for a ghoulish gift, look no further…

To begin Toys of Terror this week, we offer the priciest of the featured collectibles, coming in at a staggering $499.99. But what terrifying toy could possibly be worth that much dough? How about the GHOSTBUSTERS Terror Dog replica from Chronicle Collectibles, cast from the original FX mold and approved by sculptor Randall William Cook? Hand painted and rotocast in resin, this restored replica from Kristina Lucas Francis measures at 24″ Long x 12″ Wide x 11″ High, and comes with interchangeable horn sets for whether you want it to be The Gatekeeper or Keymaster. So if you can spare 1/2 a grand for a once-in-a-lifetime collectible, you can do so here.

Speaking of creepy quadrupeds, our second Toy of Terror is another macabre miniature of a fiendish sort: NECA’s HELLRAISER Chatter Beast! Designed as a demonic animal version of HELLRAISER’s Chatterer Cenobite, this six-inch replica comes with a custom Lament Configuration base as well as severed body part accessories. With only a limited quantity amount left from its initial run, you can add this beast to your collection for $29.99 here.

With NECA on our mind, we present our third entry for this week: NECA’s 8-inch figure of Deadite Ash from EVIL DEAD 2! Complete with screen-accurate, tailor-made clothing, this retro replica comes with poseable articulation as well as a Necronomicon accessory. So for those who like their Bruce Campbell more ghoulish than groovy, you can have this Deadite Ash for $29.95 here.

Our next Toy of Terror is also a bit of a pricey possession, but it may be worth it for those who love the most mesmerizing horror host around, Elvira! Her newest maquette, the 14.5-inch “Your Heart Belongs To Me” Elvira comes from Tweeterhead and sculptor Trevor Grove, who gives the vixen of the visceral a glittery red outfit and custom base. Coming in at a steep $234.99, Elvira completists can give their heart to the Mistress of the Dark maquette here.

The last Toy of Terror this week is the most affordable of the bunch, coming in from the good people of Funko with their POP! rendition of Cthulhu! Lovecraft’s epitome of evil has never been more adorable, standing at 3-and-3/4-inches of vinyl and coming in accurate to the author’s descriptions. Hitting shelves this February, you can pre-order the Funko POP! Cthulhu for $9.99 here.
