Toys of Terror #38

Welcome to TOYS OF TERROR, Fango’s weekly feature exhibiting the coolest horror accessories across the web. Whether you’re a collector, connoisseur or simply making your love of horror a family affair, these petrifying playthings are likely to impress even the most heartless horror fan. So if you’re searching for a ghoulish gift, look no further…

Our first Toy of Terror this week is one of our most expensive yet also one of our most impressive: a massive, self-standing original design GODZILLA replica! Standing at a whopping 5-feet tall and at 3-and-1/2-feet long, this fiberglass co-production between Sideshow Collectibles and sculptor Koichi Kawakita weighs in at 28 lbs. and is touted as the ultimate GODZILLA collectible. Based on the iconic bronze statue near Tokyo’s Hibiya Park and featuring a newly designed expression, you can pick up this GODZILLA replica for either a wallet-breaking $2,999.99 or a payment plan of $499.83 per month here.

Next up is a collectible for the many vocal Rob Zombie film fans out there, featuring one of horror’s most beloved contemporary icons: the Captain Spaulding bobble-head! Based on the character’s All-American, chicken-wielding design in HOUSE OF 1000 CORPSES, this heavy resin “head-knocker” from NECA is 7-inches tall and comes hand-painted. So whether you’re a Rob Zombie completist or if this killer clown tickles your fancy, you can get the Captain Spaulding bobble-head for $19.99 here.

Our third Toy of Terror this week is something especially for both WALKING DEAD lovers and Funko POP! collectors, featuring FANGORIA #338 cover boy Daryl Dixon on his trademark motorcycle! Offering Funko’s rendition of Norman Reedus in his iconic role, this vinyl figure is bigger than the typical 3-and-3/4 inch replicas offered by the toy line, and is in fact removable from the motorcycle itself for maximum posability. Hitting shelves this January, you can add this Daryl Dixon variant to your collection for $24.99 here.

Our next creepy collectible comes from the good people over at Distinctive Dummies, a column regular at this point with their impressive custom figures, and this entry is no different: it’s Henry Jarrod from HOUSE OF WAX! 12-inches tall, featuring custom hand-made clothing and sculpted by Steve Thompson’s, DD’s replica of the villainous Vincent Price creation is unlike any collectible of its kind. Coming in its own custom pro-print box, this Henry Jarrod figure is in very limited quantity and can be picked up for $110 (which includes worldwide shipping) here.

Our last Toy of Terror for this week is another recent addition to the Distinctive Dummies roster, but definitely one worth your attention: a replica of David from THE LOST BOYS. One of the most memorable vampire performances of all time, this LOST BOYS baddie stands at 8-inches tall and is individually hand-painted from a Gabriele Facchinei sculpt. Also featuring card art from Doc Boucher and custom hand-made clothing, this limited-edition figure is available for $80 (which includes worldwide shipping) here while they still last.
