Trailer: “DREAD” director’s Human Marionette Horror “CASSADAGA”

Anthony DiBlasi’s follow-up to promising Barker adaptation DREAD is finally hitting this fall. A supernatural/serial killer hybrid that sees a séance put a young woman in the path of a human marionette-making murderer, CASSADAGA first world premiered at Los Angeles’ Screamfest in 2011. Now, as the filmmaker’s third feature MISSIONARY makes its festival rounds, Archstone releases CASSADAGA in theaters on On Demand October 11.

Per official synopsis, in CASSADAGA, Lily Morel (Kelen Coleman), a post-lingually deaf artist, participates in a séance in the spiritualist community of Cassadaga.  But instead of getting closure with her recently departed sister, Lily contacts the vengeful ghost of a murdered woman.  As the ghost becomes increasingly angry and violent, Lily rushes to unravel the mysterious circumstances surrounding the woman’s death – a task that will bring her face-to-face with a sadistic serial killer who turns his victims into human marionette dolls.
