Trailer: “HELL BABY”, a demonic horror comedy from “RENO! 911” creators

Screenwriters and comedians Robert Ben Garant and Thomas Lennon have been massively successful, penning family-oriented crowd pleasing comedies to keep their brand of more adult lunacy in the likes of THE STATE, RENO! 911 and BALLS OF FURY afloat. The latter lowbrow goofiness has most recently manifested in the form of horror-comedy, HELL BABY.

The film, which premiered at this past January’s Sundance Film Festival boasts a great, chortle-inducing cast led by Rob Corddry and Leslie Bibb as an expectant couple forced to enlist the help of the Vatican’s elite exorcism team after they move into a haunted fixer-upper in New Orleans. Garant and Lennon star as the Italian exorcists, while the great Keegan Michael Key (of KEY & PEELE) is some mixture of overalls-wearing neighbor/friend. Michael Ian Black, Paul Scheer and more turn up in what looks like a silly riff on plenty of horror tropes.

HELL BABY is on iTunes July 25, and in limited theatrical release September 6. [iTunes]
