“TRON: LEGACY’s” Kosinski up for “THE TWILIGHT ZONE”

He of slick design and dull motion picture will tackle a second big screen adaptation of perhaps the most significant genre series there is.

The Wrap is reporting that Joseph Kosinski, whose last film was the Tom Cruise-starrer OBLIVION, is close to boarding the plot-under-wraps THE TWILIGHT ZONE feature. As the project is undergoing changes to suit Kosinki’s work/talent, no word on if the film will be one tale or anthology-esque. What matters most however is if the filmmaker can tap into the greatly affecting and morally engaging nature of THE TWILIGHT ZONE. His previous two films, though at times visually splendid, would seem to suggest not.

Rod Serling’s iconic series THE TWILIGHT ZONE was of course previously adapted into an omnibus film in 1983 featuring the work of Joe Dante, John Landis, George Miller and Steven Spielberg.
