UK Trailer: “THE WOMAN IN BLACK: ANGEL OF DEATH” Returns to Eel Marsh

2012’s THE WOMAN IN BLACK, based on a novel by Susan Hill, concerns a vengeful entity who tends to put nearby village children in a trance, under which they commit suicide. How might one up the stakes for the sequel then? By bringing a classroom’s worth of kids directly to her, you say?

Coming this January from Hammer and Relativity (and Entertainment One in the UK) is THE WOMAN IN BLACK: ANGEL OF DEATH. Another period-set story (this time, WWII) ANGEL OF DEATH takes place in England, 1941 “With London in the midst of the blitz, two teachers evacuate a group of schoolchildren to the abandoned Eel Marsh House. Seeking safety from the bombs in the remote coastal location, the group instead find themselves facing an evil far more frightening when their arrival awakens the Woman in Black.”

Tom Harper, who helmed episodes of PEAKY BLINDERS and THIS IS ENGLAND ’86, directs. Phoebe Fox, Jeremy Irvine and Helen McCrory star. THE WOMAN IN BLACK: ANGEL OF DEATH is out January 1st in the UK and January 2nd in the U.S.
