As horror soundtrack collectors undoubtedly know, Waxwork Records has been one of the entities leading the way in the horror vinyl revolution, allowing some of the most iconic film scores in the genre to come to the format for the very first time. And now, Waxwork has added another impressive entry to their roster of visceral vinyl soundtracks, as they’ve officially announced their issuing of Harry Manfredini’s FRIDAY THE 13TH PART II score this May!
Straight from Waxwork themselves:
Using the original master tapes discovered in the Paramount Pictures vaults by Manfredini himself, the FRIDAY THE 13TH PART II original soundtrack has been faithfully restored, edited, and mastered for vinyl to create the definitive LP release. Features include 180 gram colored wax housed in a heavyweight old-style tip-on jacket with full package artwork by Rich Kelly, and a fold out poster of the album cover art. Vinyl variants include a 180 gram Jason Sack Mask with Blue Splatter and a 180 gram Mrs. Voorhees Sweater with Blood Splatter.
The record will release on May 8th, 2015, with pre-orders beginning at a random time tomorrow at Waxwork’s official site. However, you can stream select tracks from the release now here. You can also check out Rich Kelly’s artwork below.
