JUNGLEWRATHCROWSDVDNEWS1On June 17, MTI Home Video releases WRATH OF THE CROWS, the latest from Italian director Ivan Zuccon of NYMPHA, COLOUR FROM THE DARK and others. It’s about a group of prisoners in a squalid jail terrorized by the guards and living in fear of an unseen Judge—a situation that becomes even more bizarre when a new inmate named Princess arrives, wielding strange psychic powers. Scream starlets Tiffany Shepis, Debbie Rochon, Tara Cardinal and Suzi Lorraine headline the cast; the DVD will include a 16×9-enhanced widescreen transfer with Dolby Digital 5.1 sound, supplemented with behind-the-scenes and visual FX featurettes. Retail price is $24.95.

THE JUNGLE, which Entertainment One issues June 24, was written and directed by Aussie Andrew Traucki and is the final film in his “Trilogy of Terror” that includes the marauding-shark opus THE REEF and the killer-crocodile pic BLACK WATER. This one stars Rupert Reid, Igusti Budianthika and Agoes Widjaya Soedjarwo in the story of an expedition to track down and film the legendary “Java leopard” in the Indonesian rainforest—a trip that turns terrifying when the group encounters a new species of predator. THE JUNGLE will be presented in 16×9-enhanced 1.78:1 widescreen with Dobly Digital 5.1 sound; no special features have been announced. Retail price is $19.98. Look for stories on both movies in Fango #334, on sale in June.
