Wes Craven comments on potential “SCREAM” series

In some sort of discussion phase for a while now, it was recently reported a series based on the SCREAM films was now actively beginning development and looking to have Wes Craven helm the pilot. The director has since taken to Twitter to express his thoughts.

On a weekly trip to Woodsboro, Craven notes, “A lot of you have asked about the Scream TV series. It’s true I’ve been approached. My response was, it would depend on the script… If they have a great script/concept, it could be fun. If not, not.”

It’s a stance plenty of filmmakers and actors have taken and continue to take regarding the resurrection of x number of films, franchises and series, and it’s one that would most of the cast and crew of SCREAM 4 even held (which would make you curious what script they read). The intent is for SCREAM to hit MTV in the summer of 2014, more as it develops.
