Whatever Happened to “KRISTY”? Trailer Surfaces for Long-Delayed Thriller

Known as SATANIC, RANDOM and KRISTY (this last one seems to be final), the Haley Bennet & Ashley Greene-starring, Oliver Blackburn-directed hooded killer thriller has been MIA for a long while, having been announced and shot in 2012 and blown through a proposed release date in 2013. Until now, our main look at the film has been a still of Greene as one of the attackers (that image came from EW, above), but a trailer has finally surfaced, seemingly for international release on DVD in Germany this August. Premiering on BlairWitch.De (and discovered at STYD), the clip previews something of a slick home invasion thriller set at an empty college dormitory where a ring of intruders play out a sick assault scenario for the benefit of online viewers. Bennet stars as the title character, a name given to all of the attackers’ victims. A previous, official synopsis read as such: With the rest of the campus home for the Thanksgiving holiday, Justine and a few of her friends spend the weekend in their college dormitory: studying, relaxing and blissfully unaware of the terror that is about to unfold outside in the cold. Suddenly, confronted by a gang of violent outcasts, Justine’s quiet long weekend becomes one long lesson in survival as her and her classmates are terrorized in increasingly bizarre and brutal ways, leaving it up to her to figure out who her attackers are…and if they can be stopped. The Weinstein Company has still yet to date KRISTY for U.S. release.
