Win an “ONLY GOD FORGIVES” Prize Pack!

Oh, do we have something for you. Having broken through with the ultra-cool neo(n)-noir DRIVE, the very singular director Nicolas Winding Refn could’ve easily gone a more crowd-pleasing path with his follow-up and ninth feature film ONLY GOD FORGIVES. Carrying over one of DRIVE’s most appealing aspects, Ryan Gosling, he instead crafted a sort of nightmare world, where the bad behavior of bad people is no longer a slow motion seductive, but garish, surreal and unsettling. The ensuing dialogue-light, transgressive journey of harsh vengeance—guided by a leading man who’s largely ineffectual and an incredible performance by Kristin Scott Thomas as his silver tongued, horrifying, warped mother—is one pushy, weird delight. And FANGORIA is happy to reveal that we have a prize pack including the film on Blu-ray, one copy of the great Cliff Martinez soundtrack, one shirt and copies of the character posters for a lucky reader.

ONLY GOD FORGIVES lives in the seedy underbelly of Bangkok. Julian (Ryan Gosling), an American fugitive from justice, runs a Thai boxing club as a front for his drug business. His mother (Kristin Scott Thomas), the head of a vast criminal organization, arrives from the US to collect the body of her favorite son, Billy. Julian’s brother has just been killed after having savagely murdered a young prostitute. Crazy with rage and thirsty for vengeance she demands the heads of the murderers from Julian. But first, Julian must confront Chang (Vithaya Pansringarm), a mysterious policeman—and figurehead of a divine justice—who has resolved to scourge the corrupt underworld of brothels and fight clubs.

If you’d like to win this fantastic little haul, e-mail Sam@Fangoria with Only God Forgives in the subject line, include your name and full address (U.S. only, sorry) and tell me what iconic Agatha Christie mystery series Nicolas Refn directed two episodes of.
