Win tickets to “SHADOWS,” “LIVING,” “SPRING,” “HARVEST” and more Scary Movies in NYC!


New York City’s best horror-film festival is about to begin as Scary Movies 8 commences at Lincoln Center this Friday, Halloween night, and we’ve got tickets for a bunch of the featured films to give away!

We’re offering two pairs of tickets each to the following movies, all showing at the Walter Reade Theater, 165 West 65th Street:

• Alexandre Bustillo and Julien Maury’s AMONG THE LIVING (pictured above; review): Tuesday, November 4 at 9 p.m.

• Dick Maas’ AMSTERDAMNED: Thursday, November 6 at 6:30 p.m.

• Gerald Kargl’s ANGST: Thursday, November 6 at 9 p.m.

• Adam MacDonald’s BACKCOUNTRY (review): Monday, November 3 at 8:45 p.m.

• John McNaughton’s THE HARVEST: Wednesday, November 5 at 7 p.m., with a Q&A with McNaughton, writer Stephen Lancellotti, producer Steven A. Jones, and actor Michael Shannon

• David Gregory’s LOST SOUL: THE DOOMED JOURNEY OF RICHARD STANLEY’S “ISLAND OF DR. MOREAU” (review): Monday, November 3 at 6:30 p.m.

• Justin Benson and Aaron Moorehead’s SPRING: Sunday, November 2 at 6 p.m.

• Kevin Kolsch and Dennis Widmyer’s STARRY EYES (review): Sunday, November 2 at 8:30 p.m., with a Q&A with Kolsch and Widmyer

• Jemaine Clement and Taika Waititi’s WHAT WE DO IN THE SHADOWS (review): Friday, October 31 at 8 p.m.

You can enter for up to three screenings—but please, only for movies you definitely plan to attend if you win. Hurry—deadline for entries is noon this Wednesday, Oct. 29, and we will notify the winners by the end of that day via e-mail; tickets will be held at the box office in their names.
