Writer/producer talks “THE INVOKING” release; full DVDetails

Previously titled SADER RIDGE, the supernatural nightmare THE INVOKING is coming to DVD and digital next year, and we’ve got a few words with one of the creators to go with the disc info.

Image Entertainment will release THE INVOKING, produced by The October People, in both media February 18. The synopsis goes: “After inheriting a house from the family she never knew, Samantha Harris [Trin Miller] and three friends head to rural Sader Ridge to inspect the property. Soon after arriving, Sam begins to experience horrific visions of savage brutality and unspeakable evil. Plagued by the sinister forces closing in around her, Sam descends into a waking nightmare when the demons from her past refuse to stay buried any longer.”

INVOKINGRELEASENEWS“We at The October People couldn’t be happier that the home-video debut of THE INVOKING is coming from Image Entertainment,” writer/producer John Portanova tells Fango. “We are rabid video enthusiasts, and are thrilled that our film will be included in a catalog that also contains such genre classics as the original TWILIGHT ZONE TV series, RE-ANIMATOR, HELLRAISER and THE HILLS HAVE EYES. THE INVOKING has had a lot of success during its festival run, and we’re happy that Image is helping us get the film out there to parts of the country who might have missed it before.” Those fests have included the Seattle True Independent and Dark Carnival Film Festivals, both of which bestowed THE INVOKING with awards.

The DVD will present the movie in 16×9-enhanced 1.78:1 widescreen with Dolby Digital 5.1 sound, plus these special features:

• Audio commentary by writer/director Jeremy Berg, producer Matt Medisch and writer/producer John Portanova

• Audio commentary by actors Miller, D’Angelo Midili and Andi Norris

• Behind-the-scenes documentary

Retail price is $27.97. Watch the trailer below, check out our review (under the SADER RIDGE title) here and visit THE INVOKING’s official website and Facebook page.
