Your (Sort Of) First Look at the “YOGA HOSERS”News Samuel Zimmerman
Though it’s the first official production still, you likely got your first introduction to Kevin Smith’s YOGA HOSERS in Kevin Smith’s TUSK. There, Smith’s daughter Harley Quinn (left, above) and Johnny Depp’s daughter Lily-Rose (left, above) appeared as a pair of convenience store clerks highly unamused by Justin Long’s highly unamusing podcaster protagonist. The two return for YOGA HOSERS, in a larger co-starring capacity, to team with Depp’s rubber-nosed man hunter Guy LaPointe (also of TUSK) and take on an “ancient evil.”
As reported this past August, YOGA HOSERS concerns “15-year-old yoga nuts Colleen Collette (Lily-Rose Depp) and Colleen McKenzie (Harley Quinn Smith) who have an after-school job at a Manitoba convenience store called Eh-2-Zed. When an ancient evil rises from beneath Canada’s crust and threatens their big invitation to a Grade 12 party, the Colleens join forces with a legendary man-hunter from Montreal named Guy Lapointe (Depp) to fight for their lives with, according to the producers, ‘all seven Charkas, one Warrior Pose at a time.”
YOGA HOSERS also stars TUSK performers Long, Haley Joel Osment, Michael Parks and Genesis Rodriguez (although seemingly not reprising that film’s roles). The rest of the cast includes Adam Brody, ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT’s Tony Hale, Natasha Lyonne and Jason Mewes.
You can see what Smith had to say about directing Harley Quinn and Lily Rose at THR. Expect YOGA HOSTERS in 2015.
